Christmas Laning in the Lake District - Day 2

Wednesday 30th December 2015

Day two saw us heading for Ambleside to our start point and we were out on the lanes we had missed the day before by 9 am. We missed the first river crossing as the water there was raging down the valley. This didn't stop the enjoyment of the rest of the lanes and we had a river crossing later in the day.

Surpriingly the water levels in the east of the region, whilst still up on normal, were not as high as those in the west. This allowed access to the high ground as we headed across towards the M6. Finishing as the light faded made for a perfect end to the trip. Another night was spent in Kendal before heading off on the 6 hour trip home on New Year's Eve.
